Head pimples are those painful little bumps that show up on your scalp, often hiding under your hair and becoming noticeable only when you brush or touch the area. They form when hair follicles on the scalp get clogged with oil, sweat, dead skin, or hair products. Warm weather, heavy sweating, and infrequent hair washing can make them worse, while things like hats, helmets, or tight headwear trap heat and bacteria, causing breakouts.
These pimples can feel sore, itchy, or tender, and sometimes even look like regular acne or small cysts. To treat them, it helps to wash your scalp regularly with a gentle or anti-acne shampoo, especially ones containing salicylic acid, tea tree oil, or ketoconazole. Avoid heavy gels or oils that clog pores and try not to scratch the bumps, as this can make them more inflamed.
