Blackheads caused by hair are usually clogged pores that form around hair follicles. They can appear when oil, dead skin cells, and dirt build up in the pore and become exposed to air, turning black.
They may also be related to:
Ingrown hairs (hair growing back into the skin)
Shaving irritation
Blocked hair follicles
Excess oil production
To help reduce them:
Wash the area regularly with a gentle cleanser.
Exfoliate gently (for example, with salicylic acid).
Avoid picking or squeezing the blackheads.
Use clean shaving tools and proper shaving techniques.
